S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

CONGRATULATING THE MOOSUP VALLEY JUNIOR GRANGE ON THE OCCASION OF

ITS 70TH ANNIVERSARY

     WHEREAS, Moosup Valley Grange No. 26 was founded in December of 1921, and is

located in Foster, Rhode Island. Deeply committed to the betterment of the community, the

Grange is a nonprofit corporation whose roots were established in agriculture; and

     WHEREAS, A little less than a quarter century later, the Moosup Valley Grange formed

a Junior Grange for children ages four and a half to fourteen. This year, the Moosup Valley Junior

Grange is celebrating the 70th Anniversary of its founding; and

     WHEREAS, The Junior Grange focuses on "family values, community service and the

strengthening of children's leadership skills and personal abilities"; and

     WHEREAS, Providing programs that are designed to endow training and build character

for its young members, the Moosup Valley Junior Grange teaches leadership skills, public

speaking, and parliamentary procedures; and

     WHEREAS, The Junior Grange also promotes and instills in its young members a sense

of self confidence, responsibility, and respect for themselves, each other, and their community;

and

     WHEREAS, By encouraging honor, patriotism, and a concern for agriculture and their

communities, the Moosup Valley Junior Grange is helping to build our state and our nation's

future leaders and is well-deserving of our utmost admiration and gratitude; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

hereby congratulates the Moosup Valley Junior Grange on the occasion of its 70th Anniversary.

We moreover thank the organization and its membership for their many extraordinary

achievements and contributions to our state; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Coalition Committee of the Moosup Valley

Grange No. 26.
