S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

CONGRATULATING FRED AND FRAN ARRIGAN ON THE SPECIAL DEDICATION OF

THE HENDRICKEN PRESS BOX IN THEIR HONOR

     WHEREAS, Maintaining school sporting programs and events for young people requires

the dedication of countless hours, determination, and a true love for both the students and the

sport; and

     WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and physical development of

young people, preparing them for a brighter future by instilling the value of teamwork, the desire

for success, a routine of healthy living, and a sense of fair play; and

     WHEREAS, Fred and Fran Arrigan have provided the special care, and the extraordinary

determination and generosity necessary to make the Hendricken Baseball Program survive and

thrive; and

     WHEREAS, For the past twenty-five years, Fred and Fran have enabled generations of

Hendricken students to savor the magic and thrill of a warm afternoon at the ballpark enjoying

America’s favorite pastime; and

     WHEREAS, As players past and present join together for a Hendricken High School

Baseball Players Alumni reunion, Fran and Fred will be honored with the dedication of the Press

Box in tribute to their magnanimous efforts; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

hereby recognizes and congratulates Fred and Fran Arrigan on the special dedication of the

Hendricken Press Box in their honor. We furthermore thank them for their efforts on behalf of

the students at Hendricken and wish them good health and continued fulfillment; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Fred and Fran Arrigan.
