RELATING TO AERONAUTICS -- UNPILOTED AERIAL VEHICLE REGULATION | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Title 1 of the General Laws entitled "AERONAUTICS" is hereby amended |
2 | by adding thereto the following chapter: |
3 | CHAPTER 8 |
4 | UNPILOTED AERIAL VEHICLES |
5 | 1-8-1. Exclusive aerial regulations. – The state of Rhode Island shall have exclusive |
6 | legal authority to regulate any object capable of flying, which is remotely controlled, flies |
7 | autonomously through software controlled flight plans embedded in the objects' system by a |
8 | global position system, commonly known as unpiloted aerial vehicles, remotely piloted aircraft, |
9 | drones, or unmanned aircraft systems. |
10 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
