CONGRATULATING ASSISTANT CHIEF ARTHUR A. JACQUES ON HIS RETIREMENT | |
FROM THE LIME ROCK FIRE DEPARTMENT AFTER 44 YEARS OF DEDICATED | |
SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF LINCOLN, RHODE ISLAND | |

1 | WHEREAS, Arthur A. Jacques began his distinguished public service career in 1971, |
2 | with the Fairlawn Fire District. Over the course of his career, he has responded to many house |
3 | fires and has been responsible for saving lives as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); and |
4 | WHEREAS, In 1980, Mr. Jacques transferred to the Lime Rock Fire Department. Over |
5 | the years, he has been instrumental in acquiring hundreds of thousands of dollars for the fire |
6 | district to buy much needed firefighting SBCA equipment, turn out gear, and most recently, |
7 | FEMA Assistance to allow for the installation of a new air cascade system. He currently serves |
8 | the District as the Assistant Chief; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Arthur Jacques has also served numerous firefighting and public safety |
10 | organizations. He has been a very active member of the Rhode Island Fire Chiefs Association and |
11 | served as their Secretary for many years. He has also served with the Rhode Island Fire Chiefs |
12 | Education and Training Board, on the Committee for Property Location for the Rhode Island Fire |
13 | Academy, and was, for many years, a member of the Rhode Island State Instructors Association; |
14 | and |
15 | WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Jacques' tireless work ethic and abiding concern for the |
16 | safety of the citizens he took an oath to protect, have been hallmarks of his exemplary public |
17 | service career. He was a very important member of the firefighter's profession and will be missed |
18 | by many; now, therefore be it |
19 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |

1 | Providence Plantations hereby congratulates Assistant Chief Arthur A. Jacques on his retirement |
2 | from the Lime Rock Fire Department after 44 years of dedicated service to the citizens of |
3 | Lincoln, Rhode Island; and be it further |
4 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
5 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Assistant Chief Arthur A. Jacques. |
