	HONORING REPRESENTATIVE RAYMOND GALLISON, JR. ON BEING NAMED CHIEF
	MARSHAL OF THE 2015 BRISTOL, RHODE ISLAND, FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION

1	WHEREAS, The Bristol, Rhode Island, Fourth of July Celebration was founded in 1785,
2	and is the oldest Fourth of July celebration in the United States; and
3	WHEREAS, Beginning in 1826, a Chief Marshal has been chosen annually. This high
4	honor has always been bestowed to a Bristol resident who has given much of his or her time in
5	service to the community. It is therefore fitting that Representative Raymond Gallison, Jr., has
6	been chosen to be the Chief Marshal of the 2015 Bristol Fourth of July Celebration; and
7	WHEREAS, Representative Gallison, elected in 2000, has been a member of the Rhode
8	Island House of Representatives for more than fourteen years and has always represented his
9	Bristol constituents with honor, devotion, and integrity; and
10	WHEREAS, Representative Gallison first attended the Bristol Fourth of July Celebration
11	in 1974, and has only missed one event since then, in 1978, when he was away with his wife on
12	their honeymoon. He has marched in fifteen parades and served once as a Division Marshal. He
13	and his family, beloved fixtures in the Bristol community, will share the responsibilities, duties,
14	and honor that go with serving as Chief Marshal. The Bristol Community could not have chosen a
15	person more worthy of this high honor than Representative Ray Gallison. He will surely make us
16	all proud with his service as the new Chief Marshal of the Bristol Fourth of July Celebration;
17	now, therefore be it
18	RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and
19	Providence Plantations hereby congratulates Representative Raymond Gallison, Jr., on being

1	named Chief Marshal of the 2015 Bristol, Rhode Island, Fourth of July Celebration; and be it
2	further
3	RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to
4	transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Representative Raymond Gallison, Jr.
