CONGRATULATING JEANNINE NOTA-MASSE ON BEING SELECTED AS THE NEXT | |
SUPERINTENDENT OF THE CRANSTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS | |

1 | WHEREAS, Jeannine Nota-Masse, who has served as the Assistant Superintendent of the |
2 | Cranston School District, was unanimously chosen by the Cranston School Committee to be its |
3 | next Superintendent; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Ms. Masse attained a Bachelor's degree in English from Rhode Island |
5 | College and holds a Master's in Education, Secondary Administration, from Providence College. |
6 | She has an extensive and exemplary public education career including eight years of service with |
7 | the Providence School Department, fourteen years of service with the Cranston School |
8 | Department, and two years with the East Greenwich School Department; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Ms. Masse has taught English at Classical High School for eight years, and |
10 | served as the Assistant Principal at Cranston East High School for five years, as the Assistant |
11 | Principal for Academic Affairs at Cranston East High School, and as a High School Principal in |
12 | East Greenwich. She also served as the Executive Director of Educational Services & Programs |
13 | for the Cranston Public Schools for two years, and as the Assistant Superintendent for the |
14 | Cranston Public Schools for three years; and |
15 | WHEREAS, Ms. Masse is described by her colleagues and peers as a visionary and as |
16 | someone who has the ability to build bridges between various groups holding differing |
17 | perspectives on complex issues. The citizens of Cranston look forward to her forthcoming |
18 | leadership as the Superintendent of the Cranston Public Schools and are confident that the school |
19 | children and their teachers will thrive under her direction; now, therefore be it |

1 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
2 | Providence Plantations hereby congratulates Jeannine Nota-Masse on being selected as the next |
3 | Superintendent of the Cranston Public Schools; and be it further |
4 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
5 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Ms. Jeannine Nota-Masse. |
