H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING CONNOR A. MCMULLEN, BOY SCOUT TROOP 6,

BRISTOL, RHODE ISLAND, ON ACHIEVING SCOUTINGS MOST DISTINGUISHED

HONOR, THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT

     WHEREAS, Earning an Eagle Scout Badge is the pinnacle of achievement within the

Boy Scouts of America. It is an exceptional distinction achieved by fewer than seven percent of

all the young men who enter scouting; and

     WHEREAS, Connor A. McMullen of Troop 6, Bristol, Rhode Island, is a remarkable

young man worthy of this prestigious achievement and his accomplishments are truly deserving

of our recognition. In his distinguished scouting career, Connor has proven to be a self-confident

young man who has demonstrated wide-ranging scouting skills and has proven to be a true leader;

and

     WHEREAS, As the highlight of Connor's scouting years, he completed an Eagle Service

Project that entailed refurbishing a utility room at Slater Mill Middle School in Pawtucket into a

robotics lab and playing field; and

     WHEREAS, It is fitting and essential to recognize the triumphs of our youth and to

celebrate the accomplishments of our future leaders. Connor A. McMullen exemplifies

everything an Eagle Scout should be and all that we hope our children will grow to be; now,

therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby honors Connor A. McMullen for all he has done to achieve the

rank of Eagle Scout. We furthermore extend our deepest appreciation for his untiring service to

the community and for setting a high standard of commitment and dedication by which the youth

of this great state may follow; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Connor A. McMullen.
