H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING BRENDAN R. BARBOZA ON ACHIEVING

SCOUTING'S MOST DISTINGUISHED HONOR, THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT

     WHEREAS, Scouting is a movement that challenges, inspires, and guides young men

toward high achievements and values as expressed in the Scout oath, law, motto, and slogan; and

     WHEREAS, Earning an Eagle Scout Badge is the pinnacle of achievement within the

Boy Scouts of America. It is an exceptional distinction achieved by fewer than seven percent of

all the young men who enter scouting; and

     WHEREAS, Brendan R. Barboza is a remarkable young man worthy of this prestigious

achievement and his accomplishments are truly deserving of our recognition. In his distinguished

scouting career, Brendan has proven to be a self-confident young man who has demonstrated

wide-ranging scouting skills and has proven to be a true leader; and

     WHEREAS, It is fitting and essential to recognize the triumphs of our youth and to

celebrate the accomplishments of our future leaders. Brendan R. Barboza exemplifies everything

an Eagle Scout should be and all that we hope our children will grow to be; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby honors Brendan R. Barboza for all he has done to achieve the rank

of Eagle Scout. We furthermore extend our deepest appreciation for his untiring service to the

community and for setting a high standard of commitment and dedication by which the youth of

this great state may follow; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Brendan R. Barboza.
