EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF DR. ANTHONY JOSEPH | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Dr. |
2 | Anthony Joseph DiMaio. Better known as Tony to his family and many friends, he was the |
3 | devoted husband of Kirsten C. DiMaio, the loving father of Michael DiMaio, and a faithful |
4 | companion to his dog, Leia; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Tony DiMaio grew up in Westerly, the son of Dr. Anthony and Mary Jane |
6 | DiMaio, the brother of Joseph DiMaio, Mary Jane DiMaio, and the late Daniel DiMaio; and |
7 | WHEREAS, While attending the University of Rhode Island, Dr. DiMaio met his future |
8 | wife, Kirsten, and was a member of the Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity. Upon graduation from URI, he |
9 | attended the University of Delaware where he received a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry. He |
10 | continued his education, completing his post-doctorate at the University of Minnesota; and |
11 | WHEREAS, Dr. DiMaio's interests and talents were as abundant as they were diverse. |
12 | Most recently, he had been employed as a Technical Support Manager, Americas Region, for |
13 | Galata Chemical in Southbury, Connecticut. He is credited with ten technical patents in his field. |
14 | In addition, he was a volunteer with the Woodbury Scholarship Fund, Boy Scout Troop 54, and |
15 | the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; and |
16 | WHEREAS, Dr. DiMaio treated those around him with kindness and dignity, and there is |
17 | no doubt that this gentleman enriched the lives of all who knew him, and will be greatly missed; |
18 | now, therefore be |
19 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |

1 | hereby expresses our deepest sympathies on the passing of Dr. Anthony Joseph DiMaio; and be it |
2 | further |
3 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
4 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Kirsten C. DiMaio and Family. |
