HONORING CAPTAIN CHARLES DELISLE, BASIC EMT, ON THE OCCASION OF HIS

RETIREMENT FROM THE CUMBERLAND FIRE DEPARTMENT

     WHEREAS, Many people go through life without any personal contact with a potential

2

life and death situation, without a defining moment that turns an ordinary person into a hero.

3

Members of Rhode Island's fire departments face such challenges each and every week.

4

Cumberland Captain Charles Delisle is no exception; and

5

     WHEREAS, Service to the community has been a way of life for Captain Delisle. Joining

6

the department in July of 1984, Captain Delisle is a veteran firefighter who exemplifies the ideals

7

of an enthusiastic and truly dedicated leader. He has consistently demonstrated that no goal is too

8

vast and no amount of effort is too great to put forth in service to his colleagues and the

9

community; and

10

     WHEREAS, Captain Delisle, a lifelong Cumberland resident, has touched the lives and

11

hearts of so many people. He is truly an extraordinary man who serves as a model of dedicated

12

and conscientious civil service, and he is eminently worthy of our emulation and

13

acknowledgement; now, therefore be it

14

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the state of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

15

hereby recognizes, honors, and thanks Captain Charles Delisle on the occasion of his retirement

16

after more than thirty years of steadfast and unselfish service to the people of Cumberland and the

17

State of Rhode Island. We wish him good health, fulfillment and continued success in all his

18

future endeavors; and be it further

19

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

 

1

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Captain Charles Delisle.
