S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF VIRGINIA P. LOMBARDI

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of

Virginia P. Lombardi, beloved wife of the late Albert D. Lombardi, devoted mother of the

Honorable Charles A. Lombardi and his wife, Carol, and Elizabeth J. Lanni and her husband,

Edward; and

     WHEREAS, In addition to her husband and children, Mrs. Lombardi was the very proud

grandmother of Charles "Chuck" Lombardi and his wife, Kim, Tarra Ferrara and her husband,

Alan, Edward "E.J." Lanni and his wife, Kristen, and Joshua Lanni and his fiancé, Vanessa.  She

was also the loving great-grandmother of two beautiful great-grandchildren, Sloane Jacqueline

and Stella Angeline, and the mother-in-law of the late Jacqueline Lombardi; and

     WHEREAS, Born in Cranston, Mrs. Lombardi was a daughter of the late Pasquale and

Cecelia Iannelli.  She was the sister of the late Joseph and Michael Iannelli, Rose Santosuosso,

Ann Canaan, and Edith Germani; and

     WHEREAS, In addition to her family life, Mrs. Lombardi and her husband were

the  founders and co-owners of Luxury Cleaners and Car Wash; and

     WHEREAS, Virginia Lombardi was the heart and soul of her family.  The memory of

this wonderful woman is forever indelibly imprinted on the lives and in the cherished memories

of her entire family and she will be dearly missed; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

hereby expresses our deepest sympathies on the passing of Virginia P. Lombardi; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to the Honorable Charles A. Lombardi and

Family, and Elizabeth Lanni and Family.
