	RELATING TO HUMAN SERVICES -- LONG-TERM MANAGED CARE
	ARRANGEMENTS

	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1	SECTION 1. Section 40-8.13-6 of the General Laws in Chapter 40-8.13 entitled "Long-
2	Term Managed Care Arrangements" is hereby amended to read as follows:
3	40-8.13-6. Payment incentives. -- In order to encourage quality improvement and
4	promote appropriate utilization incentives for providers in a managed long-term care
5	arrangement, a managed care organization may use incentive or bonus payment programs that are
6	in addition to the rates identified in § 40-18.13-5. In addition, managed care organizations shall
7	work in consultation with the EOHHS to develop incentives for nursing facilities that
8	demonstrate lower direct care staff turnover.
9	SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
