EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO THE KENNEY FAMILY ON THE PASSING | |

1 | WHEREAS, Frederick S. Kenney was born on his family's farm on August 20, 1920. He |
2 | was the last surviving child of Everett and Ethel (Oakes) Kenney. He was the beloved husband of |
3 | the late Blanche (Dawley) Kenney and the late Barbara C. (Kelley) Kenney; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Frederick Kenney served our nation with honor and integrity during World |
5 | War II in the United States Navy. He was employed as a Precision Grinder and Supervisor at |
6 | Stanley-Bostitch for more than forty-two years before retiring; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Frederick Kenney was very active in numerous civic organizations in the |
8 | Hope Valley and Kingston, Rhode Island, communities. He was a founding member of the Hope |
9 | Valley Volunteer Fire Department and served as the third President elected to the Fire |
10 | Association. He was a founding and life member of the Hope Valley Ambulance Corporation and |
11 | was a lifetime member of the Langworthy Public Library in Hope Valley. Mr. Kenney also |
12 | served on the Boy Scout Committee for both Hope Valley and Kingston Troop One; and |
13 | WHEREAS, Mr. Kenney was a very active member of the First Baptist Church in Hope |
14 | Valley and the American Baptist Church. He volunteered many hours constructing the second |
15 | floor Sunday school rooms and the sanctuary of the church. He was also an active member of the |
16 | American Baptist Association at the local, state and national levels and served them as a canoeing |
17 | counselor for the American Baptist Churches Camp at Camp Canonicus in Exeter, Rhode Island. |
18 | Mr. Kenney, affectionately known as "Uncle Fred" by his family and friends, will be sorely |
19 | missed by all who knew him; and |

1 | WHEREAS, Frederick Kenney leaves behind his four children; Robert A. Kenney and |
2 | his wife, Susan B., Richard "Titch" Kenney and his wife, Elaine, Raymond Kenney and his wife, |
3 | Carol, and Kathy Kenney Danielson and her husband, Michael. He also leaves behind a special |
4 | family member, Joanne Kenney Reynolds, who is a nurse and niece, as well as seven |
5 | grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; now, therefore be it |
6 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
7 | hereby expresses deepest condolences to the Kenney Family on the passing of Frederick S. |
8 | Kenney; and be it further |
9 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
10 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Robert A. Kenney, Richard Kenney, Raymond |
11 | Kenney, and Kathy Kenney Danielson. |
