	RELATING TO CRIMINAL PROCEDURE - SENTENCING TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT
	WITHOUT PAROLE

	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1	SECTION 1. Chapter 12-19.2 of the General Laws entitled "Sentencing to Life
2	Imprisonment Without Parole" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:
3	12-19.2-7. Juveniles. – Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, any
4	provision of the general or public laws to the contrary, or § 11-23-2, no person who was less than
5	eighteen (18) years of age at the time the offense was committed shall be sentenced to life
6	imprisonment without parole.
7	SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
