CONGRATULATING AND HONORING ROSEMARY BOOTH GALLOGLY FOR HER | |
DEDICATED AND EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF | |

1 | WHEREAS, Rosemary Booth Gallogly, Director of the Department of Revenue for the |
2 | State of Rhode Island, has led a life replete with civic devotion and honest hard work; and |
3 | WHEREAS, In preparation for her future accomplishments, Ms. Gallogly received her |
4 | undergraduate degree with distinction, and her Master's degree in Business Administration from |
5 | the University of Rhode Island; and |
6 | WHEREAS, In 1980, Ms. Gallogly began working with the state's Budget Office as an |
7 | Assistant Budget Analyst Trainee. A whirlwind of energy and a truly brilliant individual, she |
8 | worked as a Budget Officer for nine years and was later promoted to the position of Director of |
9 | Administration and named the Acting Director of Department of Revenue; and |
10 | WHEREAS, In 2010, Ms. Gallogly was appointed Director for the Rhode Island |
11 | Department of Revenue by then-Governor Chafee who praised her work stating that she was |
12 | "universally praised by those who have worked with and for her." Over the course of her career, |
13 | she has served under six Governors and has devoted three and a half decades in service to our |
14 | state; and |
15 | WHEREAS, Ms. Gallogly's many responsibilities include the administration and |
16 | evaluation of the state's revenue policies and practices, and the lottery system, and financial |
17 | oversight of the state's municipalities; and |
18 | WHEREAS, A vital member of several commissions and organizations Ms. Gallogly is a |
19 | member of the State Investment Commission, the Public Finance Management Board, the |

1 | Tobacco Settlement Financing Corporation, and Director of the Eastern Region of the National |
2 | Association of State Budget Officers, to name just a few; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Over the course of her career, Ms. Gallogly has earned a plethora of honors |
4 | and awards for her contributions and achievements including, the Robert M. Goodrich |
5 | Distinguished Public Service Award from the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council and the |
6 | Gloria Timmer Award; and |
7 | WHEREAS, The life and accomplishments of Rosemary Booth Gallogly stand as |
8 | testament to her commitment to serving our state. She is a woman of unsurpassed character and |
9 | has earned the unqualified admiration and respect of all who have been privileged enough to |
10 | work by her side; now, therefore be it |
11 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
12 | hereby congratulates and honors Rosemary Booth Gallogly for thirty-five years of dedicated |
13 | service to the people of the state. We applaud her myriad accomplishments, and wish her good |
14 | health, much happiness, and some well-earned time to spend with her husband, Bill, and her |
15 | daughters, Victoria and Katarina; and be it further |
16 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
17 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Rosemary Booth Gallogly. |
