EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF SALLY A. RAWNSLEY | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Sally |
2 | Rawnsley, beloved wife of the late Renton Rawnsley, and the devoted mother of Sarah Rawnsley, |
3 | Christopher Rawnsley and his wife, Susan, and Brian Rawnsley and his wife, Jessica; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Born in Newport to the late John and M. Corinne Riley, Mrs. Rawnsley was |
5 | the beloved sister of four brothers, John Riley, Thomas Riley, David Riley, and Joseph Riley, and |
6 | one sister, the late Mary Riley. She was a graduate of Rogers High School in Newport, and St. |
7 | Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Sally Rawnsley's loving personality created a home that was warm and |
9 | welcoming. She doted on her family, particularly her grandchildren Christopher Rawnsley, |
10 | Thomas Connell, Patrick Connell, and Aiden Rawnsley, and her great grandchildren, Leah |
11 | Connell, Faith Rawnsley, Patrick Connell Jr., and Madelyn Connell; and |
12 | WHEREAS, In addition to her family life, Mrs. Rawnsley was involved with myriad |
13 | parishes that she attended while traveling with her family in the military, and had been very |
14 | active and a faithful communicant at St. Lucy's Church in Middletown. She also enjoyed |
15 | gardening, knitting, and cooking for her family; and |
16 | WHEREAS, Sally Rawnsley was the heart and soul of her family. Her kindheartedness |
17 | and sincerity will forever be indelibly imprinted on the lives and in the cherished memories of her |
18 | entire family. She enriched the lives of all who had the good fortune to have known her and she |
19 | will be dearly missed; now, therefore be it |
20 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |

1 | hereby expresses our deepest sympathies on the passing of Sally A. Rawnsley. She will be |
2 | forever remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother; and be it further |
3 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
4 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Sarah Rawnsley, Christopher Rawnsley and |
5 | Family, and Brian Rawnsley and Family. |
