S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF BRUCE REYNOLDS CAPWELL,

SR.

     WHEREAS, Bruce Reynolds Capwell, Sr., of Greene, Rhode Island, passed away on

Sunday, May 10, 2015. He was the husband of 49 years to Diane A. Capwell; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Capwell was born in Providence, the son of the late Harry Olney and

Monique Capwell. He owned and operated Summit Painting for 26 years and prior to that, he

worked for many years at Herb Chambers Cadillac; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Capwell also served the citizens of Coventry, with honor and integrity

as a member of the Coventry Planning Commission. He had a passion for motorcycles and

muscle cars, but it was his family and friends that mattered most to him. He will be sorely missed

by all who knew him; and

     WHEREAS, Aside from his wife Diane, Mr. Capwell leaves behind a son, David A.

Capwell, a brother, Mark A. Capwell, a sister, Dale Jenkins, and two grandchildren, Jacob and

Megan Capwell. He was the father of the late Bruce R. Capwell, Jr., and brother of the late

Hunter and Craig Capwell; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

hereby expresses its condolences to the Capwell Family on the passing of Bruce Reynolds

Capwell, Sr.; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Diane A. Capwell.
