S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING SINCERE CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF WILLIAM P. LONARDO

     WHEREAS, It is with utmost sadness that this Senate has learned of the untimely passing

of William P. Lonardo, the beloved husband of Maria Lonardo, and the devoted father of William

Anthony Lonardo; and

     WHEREAS, Born in the City of Providence, Mr. Lonardo was a son of Helen Lonardo

and the late William Lonardo, and the brother of Richard P. Lonardo and his wife, Cheryl, Dana

M. Loffredo and her husband, Joe, and Paul A. Lonardo and his wife, Janice. He is also survived

by his cherished nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Richard, Jr., Nicole, Samantha, and Jake; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Lonardo had worked as an Orthotist and was the owner of his family's

business, Orthopedic Appliance and Brace Center, which had been started by his late father in

1959. He specialized in making and fitting pediatric braces, and had worked closely with families

from Meeting Street School and Hasbro Children's Hospital Rehabilitation Center; and

     WHEREAS, There is no doubt that William Lonardo brightened the smiles and lives of

his family and the children and families he had worked with over the years. He was a

consummate gentleman, who enriched the lives of all who knew him and he will be dearly

missed; now, therefore be it

      RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

hereby expresses our deepest sympathies on the passing of William P. Lonardo; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Maria Lonardo and Family.
