	A N A C T
	IN AMENDMENT OF AN ACT ENTITLED "AN ACT TO INCORPORATE THE NEWPORT
	HISTORICAL SOCIETY," PASSED AT THE JANUARY, 1854 SESSION OF THE GENERAL
	ASSEMBLY, AND OF THE SEVERAL ACTS IN AMENDMENT THEREOF AND IN
	ADDITION THERETO

	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1	SECTION 1. The Newport Historical Society is hereby authorized to take, hold, transmit,
2	and convey real, mixed, and personal estate without limit as to amount, and said estate shall be
3	exempt from taxation so long as said estate shall be used for the purposes for which said
4	corporation was incorporated.
5	SECTION 2. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed, and this
6	act shall take effect from and after its passage.
