HONORING AND COMMENDING THE INITIATIVE AND ACTIONS OF THE MULTI- | |
JURISDICTIONAL TASK FORCE THAT APPREHENDED AND CHARGED NUMEROUS | |
INDIVIDUALS WITH ROBBERY AND BREAKING AND ENTERING | |

1 | WHEREAS, Citizens of our state rely on local police department personnel to provide |
2 | protection and security for their lives and their homes at all times of the day and night, each and |
3 | every day of the year. Oftentimes these efforts go unnoticed; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Recently, a Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force that included officers from four |
5 | cities and towns, as well as the Department of Corrections, combined their insight, talents, and |
6 | manpower to apprehend and charge numerous individuals with breaking and entering; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Lt. Michael Pezzullo played a key role in establishing the task force. In |
8 | 2011, he noted an increase in breaking and entering crimes in the City of Cranston. He then |
9 | initiated a series of steps to specifically target an investigation into these crimes which included |
10 | coordinating his efforts with additional agencies and officers from other jurisdictions; and |
11 | WHEREAS, Through their investigations and diligence, the resultant task force which |
12 | consisted of Cranston Police Officers, Lt. Michael Pezzullo, Det. Erik Baccari, Det. Jamie Cahill, |
13 | Warwick Police Officers, Det. Sean Turcotte, Det. Thomas DiGregorio, Det. Timothy Grant, East |
14 | Greenwich Police Officers, Det. Sgt. Jon Chirnside (recently retired), Sgt. Glenn Terelli, Det. |
15 | Dave Black, Scituate Police Officer, Sgt. Donald Delaere, Jr., and Department of Corrections |
16 | Police Officer, Special Investigator Nuno Figueiredo, was successful in recovering thousands of |
17 | dollars in cash, stolen jewelry, and electronics; and |
18 | WHEREAS, In addition, surveillance and strong police work by the members of the Task |
19 | Force led to the apprehension and incarceration of a serial felon, who had once again begun to |

1 | pursue his nefarious breaking and entering activities. Due to their efforts, he was subsequently |
2 | apprehended and is once again incarcerated; now, therefore be it |
3 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
4 | Providence Plantations hereby extends heartfelt gratitude and praise to members of the Multi- |
5 | Jurisdictional Task Force for a job well done. We furthermore applaud their hard work and |
6 | dedication for ridding our communities of these scurrilous and dangerous individuals; and be it |
7 | further |
8 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
9 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Cranston Police Officers, Lt. Michael Pezzullo, |
10 | Det. Erik Baccari, Det. Jamie Cahill, Warwick Police Officers, Det. Sean Turcotte, Det. Thomas |
