H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF TEREZA M. CARVALHO

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Tereza

Carvalho, loving wife of the late Jack Carvalho, the devoted mother and mother-in-law of George

Carvalho and Karen Finley, and Fred and Pamela Carvalho, and the proud and doting

grandmother of Bryan, Amanda, Alyssa, and Phoebe, and two great-grandchildren, Dominic and

Michael; and

     WHEREAS, Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts, Mrs. Carvalho was a daughter of the late

Jose Monteiro and Maria do Carmo Monteiro, and the sister of Eliza Monteiro, of Pawtucket and

the late Amelia Rojao; and

     WHEREAS, In addition to making a wonderful home for her family, Mrs. Carvalho had

worked as a seamstress for New England Linen Supply and as a dressmaker for many years and

was a woman of faith and a parishioner of St. Anthony's Church; and

     WHEREAS, There is no doubt that Tereza Carvalho, a loving wife, mother and

grandmother, left an indelible mark on the lives of those she knew and loved, and she will be

dearly missed; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby expresses our deepest sympathies to the Carvalho Family on the

passing of Tereza M. Carvalho; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to George Carvalho and Family, and Fred

Carvalho and Family.
