It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 6-13.1 of the General Laws entitled "Deceptive Trade Practices" is |
2 | hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 6-13.1-12.2. Appliance manufacturer mandatory retailer return. -- Any appliance |
4 | manufacturer that sells their appliances to a Rhode Island wholesaler or retailer sales outlet shall |
5 | grant a full price sales credit for any appliance that is returned to it unused, within a reasonable |
6 | time. It is the expressed public policy of this state that the appliance consumer not be financially |
7 | damaged if they return unused appliances with a reasonable time of sale. |
8 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
