RELATING TO COURTS AND CIVIL PROCEDURE--PROCEDURE GENERALLY -- FEES

     Introduced By: Representatives Maldonado, Fogarty, Ajello, DeSimone, and Craven

     Date Introduced: February 24, 2016

     Referred To: House Finance

     It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Section 9-29-5 of the General Laws in Chapter 9-29 entitled "Fees" is

hereby amended to read as follows:

     9-29-5. Jurors' fees. -- All grand and petit jurors shall be paid for each day's attendance

on the superior court each fifteen dollars ($15.00) thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per day, and the

general assembly shall annually appropriate such sum as it may deem necessary to carry out the

purposes of this section.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

EXPLANATION

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

     This act would raise the jurors' fees for each day's attendance on the superior court to

thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per day.

     This act would take effect upon passage.
