	RELATING TO LABOR AND LABOR RELATIONS -- QUALITY CARE FOR PERSONS
	WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES

	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1	SECTION 1. Chapter 28-12 of the General Laws entitled "Minimum Wages" is hereby
2	amended by adding thereto the following section:
3	28-12-3.3. Minimum wages for employees of developmental disabilities
4	organizations. -- Commencing January 1, 2017, every covered employer providing services to
5	persons with developmental disabilities, that are reimbursed for such services by the state, shall
6	pay each of their employees, at least fifteen dollars ($15.00) per hour. For the purposes of this
7	section, covered employers are those developmental disability organizations licensed to provide
8	services pursuant to chapter 24 of title 40.1.
9	SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

1	This act would require that every employer who provides services to persons with
2	developmental disabilities, which are reimbursed for such services by the state, pay their
3	employees fifteen dollars ($15.00) an hour.
4	This act would take effect upon passage.
