H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING THE HEAVENLY GINGERS 6 FUNDRAISER

     WHEREAS, On March 22nd, 2016, the Heavenly Gingers 6 fundraiser will honor and

celebrate two beautiful and "fiery redheads" whose lives were too short, but filled with a passion

and vibrancy that left a deep and lasting imprint on all those around them; and

     WHEREAS, Jessica Morris was the beloved daughter of John and Kathie Morris, and the

sister of Kayla Morris. She was only twenty years old when she lost her battle with ovarian

cancer; and

     WHEREAS, Keri O'Donnell was the cherished daughter of Frank and Karen O'Donnell

and the sister of Elyse, Kayla, and Patrick. She was just fifteen when she passed in a tragic car

accident; and

     WHEREAS, To celebrate the lives of these two special young women, family and friends

founded Jessie's Dream and the Keri Anne O'Donnell Memorial Fund. These two nonprofit

organizations help to raise funds to support young performers so they can afford camp,

workshops, and lessons that will assist them in their chosen fields. Annually, around $10,000 is

raised through events such as the Heavenly Gingers 6; and

     WHEREAS, This year's event will feature a panoply of entertainment, including dance

and musical performances, as well as magic and comedy, which is truly a fitting tribute to two

memorable "gingers," Jessica Morris and Keri O'Donnell; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby recognizes and commends The Heavenly Gingers 6 Fundraiser.

We furthermore wish them much success in their noble efforts; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to John and Kathie Morris and Family, and Frank

and Karen O'Donnell and Family.
