EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES TO THE IANNITTI FAMILY ON THE PASSING OF

THOMAS V. "TOM" IANNITTI

     WHEREAS, Thomas V. Iannitti was born on November 12, 1940, in Providence, Rhode

Island. He was the loving husband of Linda D. Iannitti for fifty years. He graduated from Hope

High School in 1958, and earned a degree in business administration from Johnson and Wales

University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Tom served our nation with honor and integrity in the

United States Army from 1958 to 1961; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Iannitti was a dedicated public servant who was very active in political

and community affairs. He ran for statewide office twice, first for Secretary of State in 1974, and

later for the United States Congress in 1976. He lived most of his married life in West Warwick

where he served as the Director of the West Warwick Senior Center and as the Human Services

Director for the Town of West Warwick. He also served on many community boards and was

twice elected to the West Warwick School Committee. Additionally, he founded the "Christmas

Is" charity, owned Antonio's Italian Cuisine restaurant in West Warwick, and served as the host

of WKRI's "Talk of the Town" for many years. He also served statewide as a member of the

Rhode Island Bridge and Turnpike Authority and was appointed by Governor Almond to serve as

a member of the Rhode Island Board of Elections; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Iannitti was preceded in death by his parents, Vittorio and Lucy Iannitti,

his brother, Charles V. Iannitti, and his sister, Bernadette Parent. He is survived by his wife,

Linda D. Iannitti, and their three children, Christopher M. Iannitti and his wife, Mary Anne, and

their son Drew, Thomas V. Iannitti and his wife, Tammy, and their sons Grey and Quaid, and

Linda Marschat and her husband, John, and their sons Mason, Nico, John Jr., and Ben. He also

leaves behind his brother, Victor Iannitti, his sister, Marie Iannitti, and many nieces, nephews,

and close friends; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby expresses its condolences to the Iannitti Family on the passing of

Thomas V. "Tom" Iannitti; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Linda Iannitti and Family.
