S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF MICHAEL WILLIAM GROSSI

     WHEREAS, It is with much sadness and regret that this Senate has learned of the passing

2

of Michael W. Grossi, beloved husband of the late Diane Grossi, devoted father of Marissa and

3

Matthew Grossi, and a well-respected resident of the City of North Providence; and

4

     WHEREAS, Born in the City of Providence, Mr. Grossi was a beloved son of Frank and

5

Linda Grossi, and the loving brother of Frank Grossi, Jr., and Jessica A. Grossi. He was also a

6

devoted and caring uncle to several nieces and nephews, and the cherished nephew of several

7

aunts and uncles; and

8

     WHEREAS, Mr. Grossi was a graduate of Toll Gate High School, and received his

9

Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Johnson & Wales University, and his Doctorate from

10

Belford University. An accomplished and hard-working man, he was a co-owner of Maffe

11

Financial Group and had also been a Professor of Business at Johnson & Wales University; and

12

     WHEREAS, Always active in the community, Mr. Grossi was a member and had served

13

as President of the Kiwanis, and was the former Chair of the North Providence Republican Town

14

Committee. In his spare time, he enjoyed restoring his 1973 Mustang and was an avid NASCAR,

15

New York Yankees, and Boston Bruins Fan; and

16

     WHEREAS, Our thoughts and hearts hold great empathy and sorrow for the family of

17

Michael Grossi. He was a loving husband and father, and a devoted son and brother. He enriched

18

the lives of all who knew him and he will be dearly missed in the community; now, therefore be it

19

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

20

hereby expresses its deepest sympathies on the passing of Michael W. Grossi; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

2

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Ms. Marissa Grossi and Mr. Matthew Grossi.
