EXPRESSING OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY ON THE UNTIMELY PASSING OF ISABELLA | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with utmost sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of |
2 | Isabella Corcelli, the vibrant and beautiful twenty-one year old daughter of Carol and Michael |
3 | Corcelli, Jr., and the adored sister of Michael and Joseph Corcelli; and |
4 | WHEREAS, In addition to her parents and brothers, Isabella was a beloved grandchild of |
5 | the late Dr. William and Dora D'Abbraccio, and the late Michael and Theresa Corcelli, Sr. Her |
6 | large and loving family also included her aunts Elizabeth D'Abbraccio and Brenda Corcelli, her |
7 | uncle Paul D'Abbraccio, and her cousins Tara Mekuto and Talia Reid; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Isabella was a graduate of North Providence High School, where she had |
9 | earned distinction as a member of the National Honor Society, served as Student Council Vice |
10 | President and Treasurer, was a member of the lacrosse team and dance team, VAASA, an office |
11 | intern, and myriad additional activities, including holding several part-time jobs and being a |
12 | volunteer in the St. Pius V Community; and |
13 | WHEREAS, Upon graduation from high school, Isabella attended the University of New |
14 | Hampshire, and with the same exuberance she had for everything she did, she soon became |
15 | engrossed in dorm council and archery. Due to her reoccurring cancer, she returned home and |
16 | attended Rhode Island College's School of Nursing; and |
17 | WHEREAS, Isabella was not only talented, intelligent and hard-working, but was also a |
18 | beautiful person inside and out. She was named Miss Rhode Island Italia USA and had won the |
19 | swimsuit competition portion of the Miss Rhode Island 2015. She was a company member of the |

1 | State Ballet of Rhode Island, had won regional awards for her ballroom dancing, and had worked |
2 | as an extra on the film "The Irrational Man." Her love for dancing had also led to dancing the |
3 | salsa with Tony Dovolani as part of her Make-a-Wish Foundation grant which in turn led to the |
4 | organization featuring her in its promotions and inviting her to dance at its annual conference; |
5 | and |
6 | WHEREAS, The most fitting tribute to Isabella Corcelli would be a celebration of her |
7 | life, a life in which each and every day was lived fully and joyfully embraced. She was blessed to |
8 | have always enjoyed the total love and support of her family, and in return she enriched the lives |
9 | of all who knew her. Her "sparkling eyes and precious smile" will be dearly missed; now, |
10 | therefore be it |
11 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
12 | hereby expresses our heartfelt condolences to the entire Corcelli Family on the passing of Isabella |
13 | Corcelli; and be it further |
14 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
15 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Carol and Michael Corcelli Jr. |
