1 | WHEREAS, John A. Furia, Jr., of Coventry, Rhode Island, passed away at home on |
2 | February 3, 2016. Mr. Furia was born in Providence, Rhode Island, son of the late John Furia, Sr., |
3 | and Marie Furia. He was the beloved husband of Ruth Furia; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Mr. Furia was a hard-working man who was devoted to his family. He |
5 | worked many years as a supervisor for the Electric Boat Company, until his retirement. He was a |
6 | United States Navy veteran and served our nation with honor, valor, and distinction in the |
7 | Vietnam War; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Besides his wife, Mr. Furia leaves behind his children, John Phillip Furia |
9 | and his wife, Laura, Lea M. Furia, and Erik Carbone. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, |
10 | Lily Rose Furia, Olivia May Furia, Alexia Lee Furia, and Joseph Carbone, and his siblings Paul |
11 | Furia and Annmarie Dutra. He is also survived by Jessica and Elana Capaldi; now, therefore be it |
12 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
13 | hereby expresses its condolences to the Furia Family on the passing of John A. Furia, Jr.; and be |
14 | it further |
15 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
16 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Ruth Furia. |
