	CREATING ENABLING LEGISLATION TO EXEMPT COLONEL MICHAEL WINQUIST
	FROM THE RHODE ISLAND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM

	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1	SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general law or public law to the contrary, the Cranston
2	City Council may, by ordinance or resolution, consider Colonel Michael Winquist to no longer be
3	a member of the Rhode Island Municipal Employees' Retirement System and therefore Colonel
4	Michael Winquist may participate as a member of the City of Cranston's 401(k) Retirement Plan.
5	SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

1	This act would allow the city of Cranston to allow Colonel Michael Winquist to
2	participate in the city of Cranston's 401(k) retirement plan in lieu of the Rhode Island Municipal
3	Employees' Retirement System.
4	This act would take effect upon passage.
