S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING CAMERON J. HOWLAND ON ACHIEVING

SCOUTING'S MOST DISTINGUISHED HONOR, THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT

     WHEREAS, Earning an Eagle Scout Badge is the pinnacle of achievement within the

2

Boy Scouts of America. It is an exceptional distinction achieved by only a small percentage of all

3

the young men who enter scouting; and

4

     WHEREAS, Cameron Howland of Troop 12, Berkeley-Ashton, Cumberland, is a

5

remarkable young man worthy of this prestigious achievement and his accomplishments are truly

6

deserving of our recognition. In his distinguished scouting career, Cameron has proven to be a

7

self-confident young man who has demonstrated wide-ranging scouting skills and has proven to

8

be a true leader; and

9

     WHEREAS, As the highlight of Cameron's scouting years, he completed an Eagle

10

Service Project in which he led the members of the troop in replacing BlueJay habitats for the

11

Cumberland Land Trust. His project demonstrated his commitment to preserving the environment

12

and natural settings within the Town of Cumberland; and

13

     WHEREAS, It is fitting and essential to recognize the triumphs of our youth and to

14

celebrate the accomplishments of our future leaders. Eagle Scout Cameron J. Howland attended

15

McCourt Middle School in Cumberland, Beacon Charter, and now attends Blackstone-Millville

16

Regional School. He truly exemplifies everything an Eagle Scout should be and all that we hope

17

our children will grow to be; now, therefore be it

18

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

19

hereby honors Cameron J. Howland for all he has done to attain the rank of Eagle Scout. We

furthermore extend our deepest appreciation for his untiring service to the community and for

2

setting a high standard of commitment and dedication by which the youth of this great state may

3

follow; and be it further

4

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

5

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Cameron J. Howland.
