EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES TO THE JORDAN FAMILY ON THE PASSING OF

HOWARD E. JORDAN, III

     WHEREAS, Howard E. Jordan, III, known as "Chip" by his family and many friends,

2

passed away on April 2, 2016, at the Philip Hulitar Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, surrounded

3

by family; and

4

     WHEREAS, Mr. Jordan was born in Providence, Rhode Island, son of the late Howard E.

5

Jordan, Jr., and Agnes E. Jordan. He worked for more than thirty years as an employee of the

6

Rhode Island Department of Transportation, and served the citizens of Rhode Island with

7

dedication and integrity; and

8

     WHEREAS, Mr. Jordan was quite active in community and charitable affairs, and

9

volunteered his services for many years at the McAuley House in Providence. He was a

10

compassionate man who made a positive difference in the lives of many and he will be sorely

11

missed by all who knew and loved him; and

12

     WHEREAS, Mr. Jordan leaves behind his brothers, David L. Jordan and Arthur J.

13

Jordan, and his sister, Janice M. Bolenis. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and great-

14

nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, James E. Jordan; now, therefore be

15

it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

17

hereby expresses its condolences to the Jordan Family on the passing of Howard E. Jordan, III;

18

and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

2

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to David L. Jordan, Arthur J. Jordan, and Janice

3

M. Bolenis.
