EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES TO THE IANNITTI FAMILY ON THE PASSING OF | |
THOMAS V. "TOM" IANNITTI | |

1 | WHEREAS, Thomas V. Iannitti was born on November 12, 1940, in Providence Rhode |
2 | Island. He was the loving husband of Linda D. Iannitti for fifty years. He graduated from Hope |
3 | High School in 1958 and earned a degree in business administration from Johnson and Wales |
4 | University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Tom served our nation with honor and integrity in the |
5 | United States Army from 1958 to 1961; and |
6 | WHEREAS, Mr. Iannitti was a dedicated public servant who was very active in political |
7 | and community affairs. He ran for statewide office twice, first for Secretary of State in 1974 and |
8 | later for the United States Congress in 1976. He lived most of his married life in West Warwick |
9 | where he served as the Director of the West Warwick Senior Center and as the Human Services |
10 | Director for the Town of West Warwick. He also served on many community boards and was |
11 | twice elected to the West Warwick School Committee. Additionally, he founded the "Christmas |
12 | Is" charity, owned Antonio's Italian Cuisine restaurant in West Warwick, and served as the host |
13 | of WKRI's "Talk of the Town" for many years. He also served statewide as a member of the |
14 | Rhode Island Bridge and Turnpike Authority and was appointed by Governor Almond to serve as |
15 | a member of the Rhode Island Board of Elections; and |
16 | WHEREAS, Mr. Iannitti was preceded in death by his parents, Vittorio and Lucy Iannitti, |
17 | his brother, Charles V. Iannitti, and his sister, Bernadette Parent. He is survived by his wife, |
18 | Linda D. Iannitti, and their three children, Christopher M. Iannitti, his wife Mary Anne and their |
19 | son Drew, Thomas V. Iannitti, his wife Tammy and their sons Grey and Quaid, and Linda |

1 | Marschat, her husband John and their sons Mason, Nico, John Jr. and Ben. He also leaves behind |
2 | his brother, Victor Iannitti, his sister, Marie Iannitti, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends; |
3 | now, therefore be it |
4 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
5 | hereby expresses its condolences to the Iannitti Family on the passing of Thomas V. "Tom" |
6 | Iannitti; and be it further |
7 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
8 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Linda Iannitti. |
