S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

CONGRATULATING RICHARD TITCH AND ELAINE KENNEY ON BEING HONORED

WITH THE 2016 "COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD" FROM THE RICHMOND GRANGE

     WHEREAS, The husband and wife team of Richard Titch and Elaine Kenney have

received the prestigious tribute of being honored with the 2016 “Community Service Award” by

the Richmond Grange. This award is presented annually to persons who are deeply committed to

the betterment of their community and the welfare of their neighbors; and

     WHEREAS, Richard and Elaine are unequivocally outstanding members of the

community. In 1988, they joined the volunteers of Hope Valley Ambulance and have been

serving and saving people in the Richmond and Hopkinton area ever since. Richard is a trained

EMT and Elaine is trained in EMT Cardiac. During their 28 year tenure with Hope Valley

Ambulance, they have responded to thousands of rescue calls and donated countless hours to the

organization; and

     WHEREAS, Richard previously served as President and is currently the Treasurer of the

volunteer organization, and Elaine has held the position of Financial Secretary for many years,

and when not on active duty, the two can generally be found fixing this-or-that around the station

and working in the office; and

     WHEREAS, Richard Titch's dedication to Hope Valley Ambulance was ingrained at an

early age as both his uncle and father were founding members. Whether saving lives, donating to

the ambulance fund, or spending myriad hours volunteering at the Hope Valley First Baptist

Church or the Langworthy Library, Richard and Elaine have distinguished themselves as persons

worthy of this illustrious honor, as well as deserving of our utmost admiration and gratitude; now,

therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

hereby congratulates Richard Titch and Elaine Kenney on being honored with the 2016

"Community Service Award" from the Richmond Grange. We commend them for their many

extraordinary achievements and contributions, and wish them continued health, happiness and

success in all their future endeavors; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Richard Titch and Elaine Kenney.
