It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 13-6 of the General Laws entitled "Loss of Rights by Prisoners" is |
2 | hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 13-6-8. Employment required. – Any inmate incarcerated in any correctional facility in |
4 | this state shall be required to be gainfully employed, provided they owe child support. The child |
5 | support shall be garnished from the inmate's pay in accordance with any applicable state and |
6 | federal garnishment laws. |
7 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
