It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 24-5 of the General Laws entitled "Maintenance of Town |
2 | Highways" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 24-5-35. Pothole hotline. – The department of transportation is hereby authorized and |
4 | directed to establish a toll-free telephone hotline (1-800-pothole or 1-888-pothole, if available) |
5 | for the purpose of reporting potholes to the state. If the department determines that a given |
6 | pothole is not on a state highway but on a city or town highway, it shall make that information |
7 | available to the respective municipality. |
8 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
