It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 42-46 of the General Laws entitled "Open Meetings" is hereby |
2 | amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 42-46-8.2. Voluntary adherence. – Whenever any group, organization, or body, that is |
4 | not a public body, as defined by §42-46-2(c) decides, through its rules, writings, bylaws, |
5 | constitution, charter or the like, to be governed by chapter 46 of title 42 of the general laws, then |
6 | it shall be bound by all provisions of the open meetings law. |
7 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
