	RELATING TO FOOD AND DRUGS - ORGANIC CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1	SECTION 1. Chapter 21-27 of the General Laws entitled "Sanitation in Food
2	Establishments" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:
3	21-27-6.2. Organic certification program funding. -- Effective July 1, 2016 and
4	thereafter, the department of environmental management shall continue to promote and operate,
5	with appropriate staffing levels, its organic certification program. The general assembly shall
6	annually appropriate such funds as it deems reasonably necessary to effectively promote and
7	operate this program.
8	SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

	BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

	RELATING TO FOOD AND DRUGS - ORGANIC CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

1	This act would require effective July 1, 2016 and thereafter, the department of
2	environmental management to continue to promote and operate with appropriate staffing levels,
3	its organic certification program. The general assembly shall provide the funds necessary to
4	maintain this program.
5	This act would take effect upon passage.
