It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 16-59 of the General Laws entitled "Board of Governors for Higher |
2 | Education [See Title 16 Chapter 97 - The Rhode Island Board of Education Act]" is hereby |
3 | amended by adding thereto the following section: |
4 | 16-59-29. Waiver of fees for veterans. -- (a) The council on postsecondary education |
5 | shall authorize and encourage the presidents of the Community College of Rhode Island, Rhode |
6 | Island College and the University of Rhode Island to exempt all veterans as defined in ยง16-92-3 |
7 | from any and all application fees when deemed to be in the best interests of the college or |
8 | university. |
9 | (b) The council on postsecondary education shall authorize and encourage the waiver of |
10 | transcript fees for the veterans. |
11 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
