RELATING TO HUMAN SERVICES -- LONG-TERM MANAGED CARE

ARRANGEMENTS

     

     Introduced By: Senators Goldin, and Miller

     It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Section 40-8.13-6 of the General Laws in Chapter 40-8.13 entitled "Long-

Term Managed Care Arrangements" is hereby amended to read as follows:

     40-8.13-6. Payment incentives. -- In order to encourage quality improvement and

4

promote appropriate utilization incentives for providers in a managed long-term care

5

arrangement, a managed care organization may use incentive or bonus payment programs that are

6

in addition to the rates identified in § 40-18.13-5 §40-8.13-5. In addition, managed care

7

organizations shall work in consultation with the EOHHS to develop incentives for nursing

8

facilities that demonstrate lower direct care staff turnover.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
