RELATING TO EDUCATION - HEALTH AND SAFETY OF PUPILS | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 16-21 of the General Laws entitled "Health and Safety of Pupils" is |
2 | hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 16-21-36. Outdoor recess. -- No elementary school or private preschool shall permit |
4 | recess to be held outdoors when the local temperature falls below thirty-two degrees Fahrenheit |
5 | (32ºF)/zero degrees Celsius (0ºC). |
6 | SECTION 2. Chapter 16-48 of the General Laws entitled "Educational Services to Very |
7 | Young Children" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
8 | 16-48-10. Outdoor recess. -- No elementary school or private preschool shall permit |
9 | recess to be held outdoors when the local temperature falls below thirty-two degrees Fahrenheit |
10 | (32ºF)/zero degrees Celsius (0ºC). |
11 | SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
