It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 23-19.12 of the General Laws entitled "Generation - Transportation |
2 | - Storage - Treatment - Management and Disposal of Regulated Medical Waste" is hereby |
3 | amended by adding thereto the following section: |
4 | 23-19.12-10.1. Hospitals and pharmacies. |
5 | Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary contained in any general or public |
6 | law, rule or regulation, hospitals and pharmacies shall provide for public use containers for the |
7 | collection of sharps as such term is defined in §23-19.12-3. |
8 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
