EXTENDING SINCERE CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF JOYCE M. WOOLHOUSE | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Joyce |
2 | M. Woolhouse, beloved wife of the late George "Ducky" Woolhouse, devoted mother of Scott D. |
3 | Woolhouse, Sr., and his wife, Julie, Patricia Johnson, Debra Woolhouse, and Dolores Woolhouse, |
4 | and mother-in-law of Jesus Meabe; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Born in Newport, Mrs. Woolhouse was one of four daughters of the late |
6 | Robert and Anne Brinton, Sr. She is survived by her sisters, Diane Brinton, Linda Winthrop, and |
7 | Barbara Lemler and her husband, Jeff; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Residing in Middletown, Joyce Woolhouse's loving personality created and |
9 | nurtured a marriage that flourished, and a home that was warm and welcoming. She doted on her |
10 | family, particularly her grandchildren Robert Johnson and his wife, Emily, Tara Townley and her |
11 | husband, Owen, Lorea and Nikole Meabe, Scott Woolhouse Jr., Devin Woolhouse, Lucas |
12 | Woolhouse, and Meaghan Woolhouse, and her nine beautiful great-grandchildren. Her patient |
13 | and caring nature made her the kind of mother and grandmother that every child needs and |
14 | deserves; and |
15 | WHEREAS, In addition to her family life, Mrs. Woolhouse had started "Club" with her |
16 | closest and dearest friends from Rogers High School. For sixty years, until her passing, they had |
17 | met once a month. She also taught smocking classes at the Swinbourne School and her sewing |
18 | talents had resulted in her own line of children's clothing "Handmade by Joyce" that were sold in |
19 | local stores. After a decade of working for Dr. James Maher, Mrs. Woolhouse had retired at the |
20 | age of 80; and |

1 | WHEREAS, Joyce Woolhouse was the heart and soul of her family. Her kindheartedness |
2 | and sincerity will forever be indelibly imprinted on the lives and in the cherished memories of her |
3 | entire family and in the hearts of her many friends. She enriched the lives of all who had the good |
4 | fortune to have known her and she will be dearly missed; now, therefore be it |
5 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
6 | Providence Plantations hereby expresses our deepest sympathies on the passing of Joyce M. |
7 | Woolhouse. This warm and wonderful woman will be forever remembered as a devoted wife and |
8 | loving mother, grandmother, and cherished friend to many; and be it further |
9 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
10 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Honorable Henry "Rick" Lombardi. |
