EXPRESSING SINCERE CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF KIMBERLY A. TARBOX | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with utmost sadness that this House has learned of the passing of |
2 | Kimberly A. Tarbox, the beloved wife of James Tarbox for twenty-three years, and the devoted |
3 | mother of Lindsey, Samantha, and Jaime Tarbox; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Born in the City of Cranston, Kim, as she was known by her family and |
5 | many friends, was the loving daughter of Edwin and Dolly Sullivan, and the treasured sister of |
6 | Kristin Kohn and Kathryn Buehler. She was also the cherished daughter-in-law of Nicholas and |
7 | JoAnn Tarbox, the adored sister-in law of Corbin Kohn, David Buehler, Ed Tarbox and his wife, |
8 | Kathy, and Stephanie Pamula and her husband, John, and the Goddaughter of Dorothy Flam; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Raised in Warwick, Kim graduated from Toll Gate High School and |
10 | attended Johnson and Wales University. She was employed at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of |
11 | Rhode Island until becoming a mother full-time, and had most recently been the owner of ABC |
12 | 123 Children's Consignment Boutique; and |
13 | WHEREAS, During her youth, Kim had always enjoyed competition and was a gifted |
14 | athlete. She loved baseball and played for the Continental Little League, where her talents |
15 | resulted in her becoming the first girl to be drafted to their Major League. At the age of 13, she |
16 | was one of only three girls to play for the all-boys Babe Ruth Baseball League. She also played |
17 | for Toll Gate High School, Warwick PAL, and later in a women's softball league, and was the |
18 | coach of her daughter's soccer and softball teams and team manager for the Bayside Soccer RI |
19 | team; and |
20 | WHEREAS, In addition to her love for her family and creating a warm and welcoming |

1 | home, Kim developed a passion for Save A Lab, an organization that rescues labs from high-kill |
2 | shelters and engenders volunteers to foster dogs and puppies. Through this association, the family |
3 | adopted their lovable lab Reggie, and although not adopted through Save A Lab, Roxy was also a |
4 | very beloved part of Kim's family; and |
5 | WHEREAS, At a time in her life when she should have been reaping the rewards of her |
6 | life, watching her daughters find their independence, and rediscovering her business acumen, |
7 | Kim was diagnosed with cancer. With courage and optimism, she bravely battled her illness but |
8 | sadly passed on January 25th of 2017; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Kim's incredible love filled the lives and hearts of her family and many |
10 | friends, and her passion and determination in the face of adversity was inspirational. She will be |
11 | remembered for her contagious smile, her fun loving spirit, her love of sports, and her recent |
12 | passion for Save A Lab, and she will be dearly missed; now, therefore be it |
13 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
14 | Providence Plantations hereby expresses our heartfelt condolences to the entire Tarbox Family on |
15 | the passing of Kimberly A. Tarbox; and be it further |
16 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
17 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Mr. James Tarbox, Lindsey Tarbox, Samantha |
18 | Tarbox, Jaime Tarbox, and Mr. Ed Tarbox. |
