H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

CONDUCT OF ELECTIONS

     Introduced By: Representatives Price, O`Grady, Filippi, Chippendale, and Amore

     Referred To: House Judiciary

     WHEREAS, In the course of, and following, the recent election season, a number of

suggestions have been made seeking to increase the role of the federal department of homeland

security in defending the integrity of state and local voting systems; and

     WHEREAS, Such an enhanced role for the department of homeland security has the

potential of infringing on local control in an area which has been traditionally left to the states

and municipalities; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives, while welcoming advice and input

from any competent source, objects to any plan which would diminish state and local control of

voting systems and procedures; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That a duly certified copy of this resolution be forwarded to all Senators

and Representatives in Congress.
