EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF CLIFFORD FERREIRA,

JR.

     WHEREAS, It is with utmost sadness that this House has learned of the passing on

2

February 5, 2017, of Clifford Ferreira, Jr. He was the cherished son of Clifford and Paula

3

Ferreira, and the beloved brother of Christina Guimar and her husband, Richard. He is also

4

survived and will be dearly missed by his niece and nephew, Mikayla Patton and Richard

5

Guimar, III, and his loving companion, Sara Costa; and

6

     WHEREAS, A resident of Bristol, Mr. Ferreira, better known as "Cliff" to his family and

7

many friends, attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School, Bristol High School, and Rhode Island

8

College. As a young boy, he loved to collect comic books, played Little League Baseball as well

9

as CYO Basketball, and served as an altar boy for Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Bristol. He

10

had an enduring passion for motorcycles and cars and was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast.

11

His favorite expression was, "Drive it like you stole it" which is pretty much how he lived his life

12

- never afraid to work hard or play hard; and

13

     WHEREAS, From an early age, Cliff was artistically gifted and loved to draw. In his

14

professional career as an engineering estimator, he infused his love of illustration into his work as

15

an expert in technical drawing and mechanical drafting with AutoCAD software. Much of his

16

professional career was spent in the custom manufacturing industry with Display World, Inc. in

17

Warren, PCL in Lincoln and T&C Woodworking in Pawtucket, where his ability to merge his

18

artistic talents with his love of mechanical engineering in order to excel as one of the foremost

19

experts in his industry. Cliff was also the co-owner of Intrepid Enterprises LLC., a real estate

investment and management company; and

     WHEREAS, Cliff could often be found cruising his Harley Davidson Soft Tail, or custom

3

Sportster in Laconia New Hampshire or Sturgis South Dakota, enjoying his Corvette on the

4

Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire, or touring the southwestern states of California,

5

Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado and Utah in a rented convertible. He took every

6

opportunity to explore God's beauty across the United States and always shared his glorious

7

experiences with friends; and

8

     WHEREAS, Cliff was the kind of guy who would give you the "shirt off his back" and

9

was loved by anyone who ever spent more than five minutes with him. While he appeared to be a

10

rough and tumble, leather-clad biker, beneath that veneer was one of the most compassionate and

11

sincere individuals anyone could ever hope to meet. He opened his heart and home to anyone in

12

need, and had developed a circle of friends to whom he was mutually loved, dedicated, and loyal.

13

His absence will be keenly felt by many; and

14

     WHEREAS, Cliff's love of our nation and his deep respect and admiration for the men

15

and women in our Armed Forces was recognized by his parents' final request on his behalf, that

16

any memorial contributions be made to Disabled American Veterans in lieu of flowers; now,

17

therefore be it

18

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode and Providence

19

Plantations hereby extends its deepest condolences on the passing of Clifford Ferreira, Jr.; and be

20

it further

21

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

22

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Clifford and Paula Ferreira, and Family.
