3

beloved father of Seth Curran, and a lifelong resident of the City of Woonsocket; and

4

WHEREAS, Kerry Curran, affectionately known as "The Rock", was the son of the late

5

James and Yvette Curran, and the brother of Maureen Morse, Nancy Landry, and the late Dr.

James P. Curran, II. His mischievous youth was spent "swimming at the YMCA, shooting rats at

10

12

During the course of his thirty-two year career in education, he held myriad positions, including

13

working as "The Peace Man" and "resident fixer", and although the titles changed from time to

14

time, he was always totally dedicated toward the betterment of his students and was often heard

15

to say that his job was to help "square pegs who didn't fit into round holes"; and

16

WHEREAS, Mr. Curran's altruism also extended to his community and neighbors

17

through his association and volunteer work with the Special Olympics, Boy Scout Troop 1106,

19

WHEREAS, There is no doubt that Kerry Curran, a caring and patient gentleman,

20

provided generations of young people in Woonsocket with a far brighter future because of his

1

life's endeavors. He enriched the lives of all who knew him and he will be dearly missed; now,

2

therefore be it

3

RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

4

Providence Plantations hereby expresses our deepest sympathies on the passing of Kerry Rock

5

Curran; and be it further

6
