RELATING TO HUMAN SERVICES-CHILD CARE-STATE SUBSIDIES

     

     Introduced By: Representative Anastasia P. Williams

     It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 40-6.2 of the General Laws entitled "Child Care-State Subsidies"

is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

     40-6.2-6. Status of copayments-Database established.

     (a) The department of human services shall establish a searchable online database, that

5

shall be accessible to all certified family-child care providers, for the purpose of monitoring the

6

status of all copayments owed by families receiving child care assistance.

7

     (b) Any certified family-child care providers receiving child care assistance payments

8

shall be permitted to access the database at no cost.

9

     (c) Any certified family-child care providers not receiving child care assistance

10

payments shall pay a reasonable fee, to be determined by the department of human services, to

11

access the database.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect January 1, 2017.

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

     This act would require the department of human services to establish a searchable online

database to be accessible to all certified family-child care providers, for the purpose of

3

monitoring the status of all copayments owed by families receiving child care assistance. Any

4

certified family-child care providers receiving child care assistance payments would be permitted

5

to access the database at no cost. Any certified family-child care providers not receiving child

6

care assistance payments would pay a reasonable fee, to be determined by the department of

7

human services, to access the database.

     This act would take effect on January 1, 2017.
