RELATING TO STATE AFFAIRS AND GOVERNMENT -- RHODE ISLAND

     It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Title 42 of the General Laws entitled "STATE AFFAIRS AND

GOVERNMENT" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following chapter:

CHAPTER 159

RHODE ISLAND MUSEUM'S BLACKJACK

     42-159-1. Appropriation.

     During the fiscal year beginning June 30, 2018, the state lottery division within the

department of revenue shall conduct, pursuant to chapter 61 of title 42, an instant game to be

known as the "Rhode Island Museum's Blackjack." The net revenue from the operation of the

instant game known as "Rhode Island Museum's Blackjack" shall be deposited into a restricted

account to be used solely for the maintenance and support of Rhode Island museums that qualify

as nonprofit corporations under the internal revenue service code, section 501(c)(3). The

provisions of this section shall supersede any inconsistent provisions contained in chapter 61 of

title 42.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

EXPLANATION

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

     This act would authorize the state lottery commission to establish an instant game entitled

Rhode Island Museum's Blackjack, the net revenues of which would be used to maintain and

support nonprofit museums located in the state.

     This act would take effect upon passage.
