A N A C T | |
RELATING TO THE CITY OF WOONSOCKET VALIDATING CERTAIN AMENDMENTS | |
TO THE CITY OF WOONSOCKET, RHODE ISLAND CODE OF ORDINANCES | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. In all respects in which the amendment to the Code of Ordinances, chapter |
2 | 13, section 2, "fee schedule" of the city of Woonsocket, which amendments were adopted and |
3 | approved by the city council of the city of Woonsocket on or about August 30, 2016, may require |
4 | ratification, confirmation, validation or enactment by the general assembly, but in no other |
5 | respects, the provisions of said amendments to the Code of Ordinances of the city of Woonsocket |
6 | are hereby ratified, confirmed, validated and enacted. It is the express intention of the general |
7 | assembly, by the passage of this act, to give effect to, ratify, confirm, validate and enact those |
8 | provisions of the said amendments to the Code of Ordinances of the city of Woonsocket which |
9 | require ratification, confirmation, validation or enactment and by the passage of this act, the |
10 | legislature does hereby ratify, confirm, validate and enact said provisions, but nothing in this act |
11 | shall be construed to abrogate or impair the powers now or hereafter granted to cities by the |
12 | Home Rule amendment and other applicable laws of the state of Rhode Island or those rights |
13 | retained by said city of Woonsocket in its Home Rule Charter. |
14 | SECTION 2. If any provision of this act, or the application thereof to the city of |
15 | Woonsocket or to any person or circumstances is deemed invalid for any reason, the remainder of |
16 | this act, or the application of such provision to said city or other persons or circumstances shall |
17 | not be affected thereby, and to this end the provisions of this act are declared to be severable. |
